Olympic Images
This unique collection of images captures current and aspiring Olympians and Paralympians, many of whom live as well as train in the East Midlands, taking part in their chosen sport at leading tourism attractions around the region. They showcase the East Midlands as a region of sporting excellence and a great place to visit in the run up to the 2012 Games and beyond.

Athletes and attractions featured in the images include: David Florence, Beijing Olympic silver medallist in the C1 single slalom on the Cascade at Chatsworth in Derbyshire; artistic gymnast Becky Downie, 2009 British senior champion and 12th at the Olympic Games in Beijing, at Foxton Locks in Leicestershire and Paralymic champion and world record holder in the F44 discus, Dan Greaves on the shores of Rutland Water.
As a region, the East Midlands is committed to maximising the economic benefit from the 2012 Games and to raising awareness about the many opportunities that exist to engage with this event.
The inspirational and innovative nature of the project has received the support of the London 2012 Inspire Programme and it has been granted use of the Inspire Mark, awarded to projects that stimulate interest in The Games.
The images are on display in the baggage re-claim area of arrivals at East Midlands Airport, and East Midlands Tourism is actively encouraging companies and organisations to use them to help rally support and involvement in the 2012 Games.
Organisations interested in using the images should contact tourism@emd.org.uk. A disc of images, posters and postcards featuring all the images is also available on request.
