Quality Accreditation
In an increasingly competitive market with growing consumer expectations, good quality and impeccable standards need to be second to none. That’s why EMT is committed to only promoting products whose quality is guaranteed to consistently meet and exceed consumer expectations.
There are two schemes operational in the East Midlands:
-
The National Quality Assurance Scheme
(NQAS) covers accommodation providers, in some regions an entry level scheme is available.
-
The Visitor Assessment Quality Assurance Scheme
(VAQAS) covers visitor attractions.
These schemes inform consumers about standards and facilities at individual attractions or accommodation before they visit, and set a level of expectation. The schemes recognize increasing levels of quality using 1 – 5 stars. Some schemes further recognize excellence with the use of Silver and Gold awards.
So, why become quality accredited or star rated?
- Provides clarity to customers, expectations can be managed through the rating
- An assessment is undertaken which provides independent expert advice to business owners.
- The star rating provides assurance that if something should go wrong with a visitor’s stay or visit, there is an independent body with a standardised complaints procedure in place.
